Those “legacy designs” in diving fake watches

Speaking of “inheritance design”, many friends may first think of the automotive field. For example, BMW’s “Double Kidneys” and Cadillac’s “Diamond Cut” are very representative. Today, these designs are also deeply bound to the brand and are highly recognizable. In fact, in the field of fake watches, there are also many products that adopt “inheritance design”. Even after years of development, the series still has many elements that can be related to the first generation. Let us take a look at some of the more popular diving watches.

Rolex Submariner

The Rolex fake Submariner originated in 1953 and was the first diving watch in the world. Ref.6204 is considered to be the originator of the series. It uses Rolex’s patented Oyster-type waterproof case, rotatable outer ring and the night pearl in the inverted triangle area, which has had a profound impact on subsequent works. The arrangement of the luminous hour markers on the dial continues to this day.

However, on the original Submariner, Rolex did not use another famous element: the “Mercedes-Benz needle”. In fact, this very characteristic pointer was not added until the second-generation Submariner Ref.5512 in 1959. Through two generations of works spanning 6 years, the design language of the Rolex Submariner has stabilized and formed its own design style. Their shadows can still be found in the current Submariner Ref.126610.

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms

As one of the rivals of the Rolex Submariner, the Blancpain fake Fifty Fathoms also occupies an important position in the field of diving watches. The first-generation Fifty Fathoms diver’s watch came out in 1953, and it had the highest water-resistance depth of “50 Fathoms” at the same time. In the early products of the series, Blancpain has adopted a double “O”-shaped waterproof sealing ring crown and screw-in bottom cover, and is equipped with a self-winding movement with a certain anti-magnetic ability.

Compared with the earlier products of the series, the modern Fifty Fathoms still uses a one-way rotating outer ring, the diamond-shaped luminous light at 0 o’clock and the Arabic numerals at 15, 30 and 45 are all in the same vein as the earlier products. The arrow on the front of the second hand has been retained, although the style of the hour and minute hands has been fine-tuned for a more modern aesthetic. Nowadays, whenever I see the diamond-shaped luminous hour markers on the diving outer ring, the first thing that comes to my mind is the Fifty Fathoms.

Tudor Black Bay

Early Tudor fake watches were deeply influenced by Rolex, and some parts of the case were even directly interchangeable with Rolex, so Tudor watches did not have their own design features at that time. For example, the Tudor Ref.7922 watch, which was launched in 1954, uses almost the same design as the original Rolex Submariner. It can be said to be almost the same in terms of case style and dial layout, except that the movement adopts an outsourcing strategy. . An interesting detail is that Tudor used the Mercedes-Benz needle as early as 1954,

while the orthodox Rolex Submariner series was not replaced until 1959.

The beginning of Tudor’s “heritage design” is the “snowflake needle” in 1969. The snowflake needle is named because the front end of the pointer resembles an unfolded snowflake shape. This wide and full luminous filling increases the fluorescent display area, making it clear at a glance. It is a design that takes into account both beauty and practicability. Although the Tudor watch at this time is still very close to Rolex in appearance,

the launch of the “snowflake needle” is undoubtedly of great significance, which marks the separation of Tudor and Rolex. Since then, Tudor has gradually begun to get rid of the influence of Rolex and explore its own style.

Omega Seamaster 300m

The Omega fake Seamaster 300m is also a very popular diving watch at present,

and many new watch fans tend to confuse the difference between the two series of “Hippocampus 300” and “Hippocampus 300m”. To put it simply, the Omega Seamaster 300 originated in 1957,

showing strong characteristics of the times, and the design of the watch tends to be retro. The hippocampus 300m is younger. The first generation product was released in 1993 (model: 2531.80.00). The helium escape valve at 10 o’clock is one of the most recognizable features of the series. Unlike the “toothed” non-slip texture of the outer ring of most diving fake watches cheap,

the edge of the hippocampus 300m outer ring uses special polygons. The luminous hour markers in the dial are also displayed alternately in squares

and circles, and the hour markers at 12 o’clock are arranged in vertical double rows.

In terms of pointer style, the hippocampus 300 meters uses a circular luminous light on the front end of the hollow hour hand,

while the minute hand uses a triangular luminous light. The two different shapes help the wearer to quickly read information and avoid confusing different hands. The current model of the Seamaster 300m diving watch also continues many of the design languages from the first generation,

such as the helium escape valve, the wavy dial, and the pointer shape have been well preserved.
